Obituary for James Virgil Holland

James Virgil Holland, 90, left his earthly home at Grace Living Center in Jenks to go to his heavenly home on February 27, 2018. He was born in Red Fork, Oklahoma on December 16, 1927 to James Luther and Mary Bernice (Farmer) Holland. He was a 1947 graduate of Webster High School.
He served 2 years in the Army as a company clerk. After the army, he worked as a construction foreman for the Texaco Refinery until it closed in 1982. He was married to Willa Jayne McAllister on September 1, 1950 for 55 years until her death on October 27, 2005. He married Betty Jean Hallford on August 6, 2006. He has lived in Red Fork most of his life and was a lifelong member of 41st Street Christian Church until it closed. He was a current member of Carbondale Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, a son Bob and his wife, Laura Holland of Jenks, Oklahoma, and daughter, Renee and her husband, Joe Fila of Greensboro, North Carolina, and a brother, Joe Holland of Houston, Texas. He has 5 grandchildren: Phillip Holland, Jonathan Holland, Brandi Paolercio, Kari Steward and Jon Fila; and one great-grandson Ian Fila.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Bernice Holland, his wife, Jayne; one brother, Gene Holland and one sister, Sally Clulow.
He was an outstanding member of the Red Fork community who was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be sorely missed.
Services: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 7th, 2018, at Carbondale Church of Christ with interment at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
