Mark Kevin Griffith (1958 - 2008) was the founder of Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Homes. He graduated from Charles Mason High School in 1976. He was a licensed funeral director & embalmer who graduated from Mortuary Science at Central State University. In 1984, he passed the state board exams with a 92%. He got a start on his career during his childhood by travelling to funerals with his father, Gene Griffith, also a funeral home owner. The highlight of each trip was a steak dinner at the end. This tradition Mark joyfully carried on with his sons. Mark became the owner and founder of Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Homes in 1992. He took great pride in being a three-generation, family-owned funeral home. He was the past president of Southwest Tulsans Chamber of Commerce. He was a past master of Red Fork Brookside Masonic Lodge #505, a 32nd degree Mason at Tulsa Scottish Rite Consistory, a member of York Rite. Mark was also a Shriner at Tulsa Akdar Temple where he served as Assistant Director of the Kar Buffs unit. Mark was a member of Red Fork Eastern Star Chapter #394. He was on the board of directors of the Westside YMCA & on the Board of Directors of the Model T Ford Club of Tulsa, he was also a member of the Model T Ford Club of America & the Antique Automobile Club. Mark was an active member of the Professional Car Society. Mark was a Charter Member of Townwest Sertoma, where he served as past Treasurer. Mark was a charter member of Sand Springs Optimist Club. He was a past treasurer of Cub Scout pack #19 and he also participated in Volunteer work with Boy Scout Troop #28.
Pamela Griffith Samples is the office manager for Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Homes as well as the pre-need manager. She is a graduate of Memorial High School and attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Pamela is licensed with the State of Oklahoma Insurance Department. Pamela works side-by-side with families on a pre-arrangement basis to pre-plan funerals & to assist them with funding options. She also works with families at the time of need, to determine insurance & agency availability. Pamela is an active member of the Sand Springs Pilot Club & is also past President of the Sand Springs Sertoma Club. She is the co-organizer of the Sand Springs Sertoma Clubs annual Fireworks Display, which is now a highly attended annual event. Pamela is a recipient of the Sertoman of the Year Award for the work that she has done for the Sand Springs community. She served on the Board of Prue Public Schools of Prue, Oklahoma. Pamela is a Sunday School teacher as well as a member of Prue First Baptist Church of Prue, Oklahoma. She also is the co-chairman of the Sunday School childrens department and member of the church planning committee. Pamela has been the wife of Wayne Samples for 37 years, with 3 daughters and three grandsons. Pam has played a huge part in the success of Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Homes.
