DORENE VELMA DOBSON
TULSA – Dorene V. (Graham) Dobson, 74, died unexpectedly Friday, September 27, 2019, at St. John Medical Center. She was born September 17, 1945, in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of Delmer L. and Opal J. (Bow) Graham.
Dorene graduated Charles Page High School in Sand Springs, Class of 1963. Following graduation, she took a summer job at the Kerr Glass Manufacturing Plant in Sand Springs where she met the man who would become her future husband, Don Dobson. She briefly attended Northeastern State College in Tahlequah that fall but she and Don continued dating and married November 23, 1963. Later, she went on to attend Tulsa Tech where she learned computers, which complemented her bookkeeping skills. In addition to being a stay at home Mom, she put those technical skills to good use occasionally working outside of the home for Unit Rig, the Baptist Book Store in Tulsa and most recently as the Financial Secretary at Red Fork Baptist Church. Dorene was a devout Christian and an active member of Red Fork Baptist Church, where she played the piano and organ. Developing and maintaining personal relationships with family and friends was very important to her. She was a wonderful and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, and traveling. She and Don would have celebrated 56 years of marriage this November.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy and Doyle Graham. Surviving are Jimmy’s wife, Sharon of Lexington, South Carolina, and Doyle’s wife, Debra, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, her brothers, Delmer Graham Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, Ronnie Graham and his wife, LaQuetta, of Sand Springs, and Gary Graham and his wife, Doris, of Houston, Texas; her loving husband Don of the home, son, Michael and his wife, Stephanie, of Beavercreek, Ohio; daughters, Michelle Bryant of Tulsa, Laura Troglin and Travis Kaufmann, of Van Buren, Arkansas, and April Cody and her husband, Matt, of Sand Springs; grandchildren, Kaitlin Ridge, Casey Ridge and his wife, Carlie, Gabriella Dobson, Gary Roberts and his wife Theresa, Nicole Roberts, Britni Troglin, Vickie Troxell, Carissa and Zachariah Cody; great grandchildren, Annemarie and Noah Ridge, Johnathan and Serenity Roberts, Skyler Copeland and Kiersten Lesser; and many nieces and nephews.
