Obituary for Eleanor Maurice Tyler

Eleanor (Maurice) Tyler, 98, of Tulsa, passed away Monday, April 22nd, 2019.

She was born August 5th, 1920 in Snyder, OK. to parents, George & Ida Lee (Cooke) Hodson. She was a teenager at Snyder High School where she met & married Murray Tyler.

Always moving around in their young years she lived in many towns & states, settling in Tulsa at her current home for the past 64 years. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery, sang in the choir, & sat in her favorite pew every sunday. She loved to sew & worked at Hopkins Fabric Shop on SW Blvd. In the 50's & a fabric shop in Crystal City in the 70's. She loved music, flowers, her home & church, but most of all her family. She also worked for Tulsa Public Schools in the cafeterias of Mason High School & Webster High School. She prayed for each & every one faithfully every night; We will all miss those prayers. She was the mother of 5 children, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren & 18 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Murray B. Tyler, a lifetime sheet metal worker; her oldest daughter, Shirley Sullivan & her 3rd child, Orval Tyler. She is survived by: son Gary Tyler & daughters Carolyn Cantrell & Vicki Smith all of Tulsa.
