She was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Brian Beeson, Tammy Walker, Chad, Christopher, and Chay Tidwell. Extra special blessings were the great grandchildren: Codie and Wesley Beeson, Ashley and Shelby Walker, Caleb, Charleston, Jonathan, Melody, Colton, Castion, and Emerald Tidwell.

She was raised in Salina, OK. Attended Centerhill School which was a one room school house thru the 8th grade. She married William (Bill) Cowan in 12-12-1939. They were married 63 years when he died. SHe was a house wife for many years raising 3 girls, Reba, Lynda and Connie. She was a Red Cross volunteer prior to the time she worked for Oral Roberts Association. She retired form OREA.

She would get a call one day offering her a job working with the kids after school program at Park Elementary called Kids Kingdom. She loved it and broke her wrist playing ball sliding into second base.
She was very supportive of her daughters in band, ball, and even paid their way through college. Mary was always there for the grandchildren's high school, college and OCS graduations.

She loved to camp in Colorado, take bus trips with her girlfriends and fish with Bill and her sisters.

One of Mary's favorites was the Arkansas family reunions in Mountain View, Arkansas. She looked forward to organizing it each year.

Mary loved to walk and exercise in her neighborhood. She was a good seamstress and once made a crepe paper dress and Connie won the "Tiny Tot Contest" that year.

She was saved at New Home in the early 1950's. She worked in many small churches before returning to New Home. Mary was a proud resident of Berryhill since the beginning of World War II, she loved her neighbors and church friends.

Prior to becoming a member of New Home, Mary was a charter member of Western Hills Assembly of God for over 40 years. Faithful servant, she was bestowed an honorary parking spot with a name plate.

Mom never taught a Sunday School class but was always ask to keep the books as secretary.

Mary was a devout Christian and raised her girls in church. She bought dresses alike for them, to wear to sing in different Tulsa churches when they were growing up. She was proud to have them sing, knowing we were making her a blessed mom.

She took care of Bill many years while he was on dialysis. It took a toll on her health. Five years ago her health took a turn. A stroke took her right side, paralyzing her, confining her to a wheelchair. Unable to stay in her home. Was very hard but she was strong and adjusted.

Tuesday morning June 4 she had a stroke. She fought it but God saw differently to call her home on the morning of June 6th.

Mary's circle of life started at New Home Freewill Baptist Church and today the circle is complete at New Home Freewill Baptist Church.
